Rimedo Labs integrated a Traffic Steering xApp into the VMware dRIC. Rimedo’s Policy-Controlled Traffic Steering xApp running on the VMware Distributed RIC incorporates both service and mobility load balancing to avoid congestion, improve user experience and make the network more energy efficient. Rimedo’s xApp was the winner of the inaugural rAppathon RIC application developer competition hosted by VMware and Intel at MWC 2023.

Rimedo Labs has integrated a new xApp into the SD-RAN Near Real-Time RIC from ONF to complement the previously provided algorithm by enabling control of O-DU functionality, namely scheduler. This is the second Rimedo's xApp integrated with the ONF’s SD-RAN platform utilizing the A1 interface for policy control. As part of the ONF’s SD-RAN project, the joint collaboration supports a broad range of automation services in the form of software services, called xApps by O-RAN, that run on the RIC.

Rimedo Labs joins forces with the Military institute of Communications (Wojskowy Instytut Łączności), Politechnika Poznańska and Grandmetric to work on 5gSTAR, an innovative research project funded by Narodowe Centrum Badań i Rozwoju on cyber-security in 5G radio

RIMEDO Labs, has joined the ONF, a non-profit operator-led consortium driving the transformation of access and edge network infrastructure. Within ONF, RIMEDO joins the SD-RAN project focusing on building open-source components for the Open RAN space in compliance with the O-RAN Alliance’s architecture and specifications. The key element of the SD-RAN project is the development of an open-source near-Real-Time RIC along with a set of exemplar xApps for controlling the RAN.

For decades now, telecommunications solutions have been constantly changing the face of the Polish and global economy, as well as our everyday life. In the context of the next development leap towards the so-called industry 4.0, wireless telecommunications, and in particular, 5G will play an important role. In August 2020, the Poznan University of Technology granted RIMEDO Labs license to use the university's know-how in the field of algorithms used in telecommunications networks.
